Time may dictate we design as one unit our pleasure boat inside our tiny home on the water. The finite size of land and water makes this logical. [P]

By combining the mobility freedom of the boat on water directly inside our house is itself a free-spirited lifestyle. [P]

Generally, now we separate boats and houses. The space on land and water used separately is enormous, not to mention costs.

First the water space. For example:

– Burrard Civic Marina (Vancouver, Canada), has 423 water berths. [P}

– Coal Harbour Marina (Vancouver, Canada), has 242 water berths. [P]

the berth sizes range from 30ft. to 330ft.

These are extensive tracts of our city’s limited waterfront. Designing tiny houses to incorporate the boats inside as one unit will go a long way to alleviate our housing crisis.

Second, the costs. Houseboats individually sell from $150,000 to $1million. Surely, we can design combined units that are cost-saving compared to having 2 separate units.

Less man-made intrusion and damage to our oceans will benefit our environment in the long-term.

Reducing our built space is reducing our footprint.
